What is the Catalan Network of Interreligious Dialogue Associations.

Image The Catalan Network of Associations, created by the UNESCO Association for Interreligious Dialogue, assembles the initiatives of nineteen entities and steady interreligious groups from the Catalan-speaking territory (indeed, some associations are situated not only Catalonia, but also in Valencia, Mallorca, the Roussillon and Andorra).

The Network brings together initiatives which assemble people from, at least, two different confessions, and for which the practice and diffusion of interfaith dialogue is a priority. It resolutely values as well any other interfaith dialogue initiative individually promoted by any spiritual or religious tradition, civic association or public administration.

The Network organizes three annual meetings with the representatives of each group and entity, and also a biannual Catalan Parliament of Religions.

Since its beginnings, the Network’s coordination has been assumed, by general consent, by the UNESCO Association for Interreligious Dialogue, which, from this activity, promotes the constitution and consolidation of new interreligious groups, in order to favor communication, information exchange, best practices and training offers for interreligious dialogue.

The Network is connected, at the international level, with the “Partner Cities Network of the Council for a Parliament of the World’s Religions”. The activities and best practices of the Network are diffused through general and specific media (specially the interreligious dialogue magazine Dialogal, AUDIR’s website(www.audir.org)  and other webs of the Network’s entities).
